Edirne Museum

The museum was opened on June 13, 1971 as the Ethnographic and Archeological Museum. Most of the artefacts in the collection are prehistoric. There are also Greek, Roman, and Byzantine artefacts including a fine collection of gold, silver, and bronze coins, statues, and earthenware and glass vases.

Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art

Items on display in this museum were collected from mosques, technological schools, Turkish baths, and fountains. In 1925 they were gathered into the theological school of Selimiye Mosque. Later, it was opened to the publiz as the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art. In 1971 the items were rearranged into chronological order, beginning in the first exhibit hall with the Ottoman Period. Artefacts include handwritten copies of the Koran, weapons and glassware.

The Memorial of Şükrü Paşa The Museum Of Balkan War

The memorial and the museum were built in commemoration of the martyrs of the Balkan War broke on 26 March 1913. Şükrü Paşa had defended Edirne in famine during the war. His tomb was brought to Kiyik Tabya near Edirne. A memorial was erected for him. A museum was opened consisting of the property left from the people of edirne related to the Balkan War. The memorial was opened to the public visit on 24 July 1998. The museum was opened on 5 February 2000.
