Trakya University

inspires students, researchers and faculty members. Trakya University conducts
innovative research on many fields outlined below and carries research-based education.

THE
SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCE
The
aim of the School of Arts and Science is the creation and application of
knowledge through pure and applied research and the dissemination of this
knowledge through scholarly publication and teaching. Research and teaching are
the fundamental activities of the faculty. The School of Arts and Science will continue
to build a dynamic, nationally and internationally recognized research base.
This base will provide a solid foundation the school’s undergraduate programs.
Research and teaching goals of the school are to provide an environment that
promotes and facilitates both individual and collaborative research and
teaching activities of faculty, students and staff.
Research
in the Department of Biology addresses a variety of fundamental interests that
include animal, genetics, molecular biology and microbiology.
Research
interests of the Department of Chemistry include Analytical Chemistry,
Biochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.
The
Department of Mathematics undertakes research in Algebra and Number Theory,
Classical and Applied Analysis and Functional Analysis.
The
Department of Physics has active research programs in experimental and
theoretical physics.
THE SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURE
In the Mechanical Engineering Department, main research studies are
carried out in the fields of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mechanical
vibrations and modern manufacturing methods and some of the faulty members are
working in the international project groups. Some of the research studies are
about boundary layer flows, vibration behavior of composite materials and
modern manufacturing methods and these are related to the 6th Framework
Program.
In the Computer Engineering Department, research activities are
carried out in the fields of computer hardware and software. The faculty
members of the department lead projects concerning artificial intelligence and
computational linguistics, digital signal processing, mobile communication and
methods of environmental planning.

SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS AND ADMINISTRATIVE SCIENCES
The School of Economics and
Administrative Sciences has the interest of the following main subjects under

THE
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
The School of Education declares the
Education of Foreign Languages and the Educational Sciences as the strongest
fields for research activities.
According to the
Sixth Framework programs thematic areas, citizens and governance in a
knowledge-based society along with the international cooperation activities
stated in the cross-cutting research activities are seen to be suitable for the
research activities of the school.
In accordance
with the protocol signed with Bulgarian and Greek universities, the School of
Education organizes conferences in English Language Teaching and Educational
Sciences fields in collaboration with Bulgarian and Greek universities.
Bulgarian, Greek and Turkish teachers working at these universities work in
collaboration on research projects and present their papers in these
conferences.
The School of
Education exchanges lecturers, teachers and students with Bulgarian
Universities and the future plans of the school include doing cultural projects
in collaboration with the students and teachers from Bulgarian and Greek
Universities.
