publish original reports, reviews and short communications in various fields of
basic and applied sciences written in one of the two languages (Turkish or
English) and publishing two times a year (June and December or supplement
issue, if necessary). Manuscript submitted to Our Journal is not under
consideration by another journal and not published previously. All the
responsibility of the content of article belongs to the authors.
Manuscript Presentation
Authors,
should be submit 3 folds of manuscript including copyright release form (It
can be obtain from editor or journal web site) with signatures of authors
and IBM PC diskette (3.5”) or CD. Manuscripts should be written with word
processing program Word 98 (or newer versions), font style Times New
Roman, size 12 pt, 1.5
spaced with ample margins (with margins of 3 cm) and single sided on
white A4 standard paper and submitted for publication as three complete copies
with a diskette or CD containing article. Leaving adequate margins on all sides
to allow reviewers marks. Manuscripts should not exceed 10 pages (min. 1.5
spaced and 11 pt), should be easily understandable and supplied with clear
explanation. Unnecessary explanations and details of routine procedures should
be avoided. After the manuscript was accepted for publication, i.e., after
referee-recommended revisions are completed, the author will not be permitted
to make any new additions to the manuscript. The general appearance of the
manuscript should be as fallows;
Title: Should be short but informative and
should be reach the middle.
Author(s): The complete, unabbreviated names
should be place under the title and complemented by full addresses at the
bottom of the first page. Address of authors(s) must be write full, avoid
abbreviations. Telephone, fax and e-mail address of correspondence author must
be write under the title of the manuscript.
Abstract and Key words: Turkish and English abstracts should be
written within 200 words (max) and 4-6 key words (in alphabetical order)
should be given below abstract. The main headings and subtitles (below) must be
clear and not numbered. Use SI (Systeme International) unit and
abbreviations. If using the other abbreviations, please indicate it one time
appeared first in the text.
Introduction: The purpose of the study and notable
studies up the date should be presented.
Materials and Methods: Experimental methods and procedures
should be described with clear and brief explanations. Techniques using by
authors can repeatable by the other researchers.
Results: This section contain only findings, no
writing comment. Results can be support by tables, figures, graphics etc., if
necessary.
Discussion: Unnecessary repetition should be
avoided in the discussion. Results can compare with other studies and discuss
similarity and distinction.
Acknowledgements: Should be as the short as possible.
Aknowledgements should be grants, funds, peoples reviewing the manuscript, and
it must be placed before the references.
References: Please do not use unpublished data. (Examples:
Unpublished workshops and reports, lesson notes, articles in preparation or
submitted to a journal for publication, unpublished data or observations and
personal communications, etc.). But MSc and PhD thesis can be use as
references. References may be given as alphabetical order of last names.
References in the text: Example: Barnett (1999) or Barnett et al. (1999).
The method of citation should be as
follows:
Periodicals: Name of the author(s) with their
initials, title of papers, title of the periodical abbreviated according to the
international abstract list of journals, volume number, first and last page
numbers, and year of publication.
Example: KLICH MA. Morphological studies of Aspergillus section Versicolores and related species. Mycologia. 85: 100-107, 1993.
Book, section of a book, encyclopaedia,
or thesis: Name
of the author(s) with their initials, title of publication, name of the editor
(if any), first and last page numbers, the publisher, place of publication and
of year of publication.
Example: BARNETT
HL, HUNTER BB. Illustrated Genera of Imperfect Fungi, 4th Ed. 218 pp. APS
Press, The American Phytopathological Society. St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, 1999.
Section in the book:
Name of the author(s) with their
initials, title of publication, name of the editor (if any), first and last
page numbers, the publisher, place of publication and of year of publication.
Example: KLICH MA, CLEVELAND, TE. Aspergillus systematics and the molecular genetics
of mycotoxin biosyntesis. pp. 425-434, 2000. [Eds: RA SAMSON, JI PITT. Integration of Modern taxonomic methods for Penicillium and Aspergillus classification. 510 pp. Harwood Academic
Publishers. Singapore].
Congress, Symposium: Name of the author(s) with their initials, title of publication,
name of the congress, title of the booklet, volume number (if necessary), page
number, year and place of the congress.
Example: Yazicioglu M, Asan A, Ones U, Vatansever U, Sen B, Ture M,
Bostancioglu M, Pala O. Indoor Airborne Fungal Spores and Home Characteristics
in Asthmatic Children From Edirne Region of Turkey. AAAAI (American Academy of
Allergy, Asthma and Immunolgy) 58th Annual Meeting. March 1-March 6, 2002, New
York, USA.
Internet: If author(s) obtained some information from internet, should be
write full web address in the reference section.
References: not numbered in the text and references section. Example: x
species in springs and lakes in Poland (CZECZUGA and MUSZYNSKA,
2001).
If
there three or more authors, references should be given in the text such as:
... many new water fungi determined in some studies (WONG et al., 1998) or WONG
et al. (1998) indicated that ...
Footnotes: Footnotes should be avoided if
possible, but if necessary, should be short and never containing any important
part of the work and should be numbered consecutively by superscripts.
Figures
and Tables:
All illustrations not including tables (photographs, drawings, graphs, etc.)
must be labelled as "Figure".
The proper position of each table and figure must be clearly indicated
in the paper. All tables and figures must be numbered consecutively throughout
the paper (Table I, Figure -1) and must have a caption or legend.
Appendices: All appendices must be typed on
separate sheet and should be numbered consecutively with capital Roman
numerals. Authors when submit the four folds manuscripts for publication,
should be indicate and guarantees the manuscript has not been published
previously and it is not under the review in the other journals.15 reprints are
supplied free of charge and their sending to correspondence author after
published the manuscript.
Manuscripts mailed two specialists for
review. But, Editorial Board of Trakya Univ J Sci can reject
automatically insufficient manuscripts. After review procedures, Editorial
Board of Journal will be take a decision for accept or reject of the
